ML-40 and ML-20 tuning units question

Tom.

Many thanks for posting out the antenna; it was waiting for me when I got home from the rally last Saturday. I intend to set it all up tomorrow and I will let you know how I get on. I do however have a question.

The ML-40 tuning box only rotates through 180 degrees whereas the ML-20 rotates through 360 degrees. Is this correct?

Mircle Whip being sold to buy G4TPH Magloop

Hi Tom,
I was actually put onto your website by a nice guy selling a Miracle Whip on ebay whom I asked WHY `was he selling it ?'.
He told me that he had not had much success with it, worked a few stations but nothing special and that he was saving his pennies to buy one of your mag loops.

Magloop Report from M3TZN, 7 Oct 2007

Hello Tom

This is a coincidence, as I have just returned from a weekend away where my magloop has had it's first outing. We spent the weekend in a hotel in Ashby De La Zouch in Liecestershire. I set my loop up inside my hotel room and immediately got QSOs in Germany and Sicily. My rig is an Elecraft K1 with 7 watts output. I am very pleased with it's performance and the fact that it is portable. I have made a stand using a length of plastic conduit fitted to a wooden base. The top and bottom screws of the antenna I have replaced with long ones for fixing it to the vertical plastic tube, making it standalone. The performance at home is comparable with my G5RV half size but slightly lower gain. VSWR is good on 40/30/20 metres. My stand is a 'mark 1' version and it needs to be a bit stiffer as it sways about a bit and wouldnt stand much in the way of wind if used outdoors. We are keen canal boaters and it will probably be going afloat next. I am also planning to build a K2 which will stay at home and use the K1 solely for trips away. I also have in mind a solar panel and battery system to make the K1 & loop rig totally independent and portable.

The loop is a success and thanks very much. I'd be interested in any future CW/QRP developments you may come up with.

Regards.
